Oh Just One More… Power Green Couple Wedding, Olympia, WA

OK, it’s nearly 2:30 in the morning and I have to leave for the airport in less than three hours…why even go to bed at this point, right?  Besides, I’m still riding the energy high from Josh & Sarah’s beautiful wedding today.  This couple is completely adorable.  They’ve been together for 10 years–since their mid teens, and were high school and college sweethearts.  They now run a cool startup: www.GreenCupboards.com for everything you could need to run a green household!  I LOVE my clients! How does this happen? How is it that I seem to work with only the sweetest, most wonderful people?  I don’t know, but I do feel grateful for each and every one : )  Here are a few images from their day… More later, but I should probably finish packing.

Alley Love, Engagement Session, Olympia, WA

I love alleys.  There is something a bit clandestine, maybe secretive, and very  private.  The alleys of downtown Olympia have their own personalities–some are urban and edgy, others have an old world feel,  but all of them make for perfect photo scenarios.    Emily and Austin were perfectly happy to wind through the alleys, tucking in and out, and stealing a kiss or two along the way.  Soon, they will be heading to the sunny land of Cali as Austin pursues his dream of flight.  These two smarties–one an engineer the other a psyche major have the world opening up to them.  So sweet to see lovely couples in love forging new lives together.  Good luck you two!DSC_7440TDSC_7429TDSC_7692TDSC_7629TDSC_7720TDSC_7902TDSC_7892T

Crazy Love–Carnivale Style, Olympia, WA

My clients have such great style–who else can pull off Chuck Taylors, rockabilly hair and a suit?  Ale looked like Maria from the Westside story with her adorable summer dress and cardigan.  Blue and Ale came ready for a playful engagement session at the carnivale.  We opted to head there early, before the gates opened to avoid crowds.  What an eerie feeling–the carnivale was totally deserted.  I kept half expecting zombies to emerge from the haunted house…  We then made our way to another deserted locale, a cool old lumberyard and  warehouse.  Great images! Thanks for being adventurous you two!  Congrats and can’t wait for the wedding : )DSC_6868DSC_7113DSC_6857DSC_7306DSC_7368DSC_7078DSC_7018DSC_7131

Sizzlin' Summer Senior Sessions, Olympia, WA

Kelli –what a doll!  She has the bluest of blue eyes and a smile you can’t help but catch.  She is one of those easy going beauties, and I love her relaxed style.  I am so lucky to have such lovely senior reps!  How does this happen?  Don’t know, but I feel grateful to photograph these great kids at such important times in their young lives…  Oh to be young!DSC_8381TDSC_8392TDSC_8186TDSC_8197TDSC_8165TDSC_8241TDSC_8259TDSC_8408TDSC_8409TDSC_8317T

A Midsummer Wedding, Indian Summer Country Club, Olympia, WA

It was a sun dappled afternoon for Rebecca and Alex’s wedding, that though still close to 80 degrees, had cooled considerably from the low 90’s earlier in the week!  Thankfully there was plenty of shade to tuck into and every so often, a slight breeze would find it’s way through.  With their blond curls, they made the most adorable couple.  When Alex turned to see his bride for the first time, his smile was so unbelievably tender, eyes all around welled up.

DSC_3165TDSC_3174TThe bright, happy colors of yellow and sage green were perfect– mimicking the happy attitude of the wedding party gang. The was certainly no lack of laughter in this group!  Newbury Bay ( http://newburybay.com/ ) provided the most vibrant floral arrangements, and Angela from Weddings with Joy  ( http://weddingswithjoy.com/ )was there to make certain the bridal party looked their best up to the last moment.DSC_3251T

Sunlit Love, Engagement Session along Olympia Waterfront

DSC_0739TYay for a sunny, Fourth of July weekend!! — Especially since Ashlee and Wes ventured all the way down from Bellingham for their engagement session.  I love the low angled summertime sun… I probably should have been carting around my ladder though–I think collectively they were close to 13 feet tall!  DSC_0732TWe wandered along a deserted field, just as the sun was peeking out.  Now if it will just hold through tomorrow evening and Lana and David’s wedding, we’ll be golden, literally.

Being TWO Rocks!!!

Remember when your Birthday was the BEST day of the year? You’d wake up just knowing amazing things were in store– presents to be unwrapped, cake to be devoured, and you just felt special for that day… Yeah, good times… I still love birthdays, although the fanfare is markedly less dramatic…
We have a tradition of starting the Birthday day with Yums. I’ve LOVED waking my boys up with a lit cupcake–their sleepy eyes straining to focus on the flickering candle, wishes still muddy in their dream laden minds.
It’s so heartwarming to see my friends creating memories with their own families. Like Annie’s adorable daughter Saffron–with her sweet little baby teeth, and chubby baby fingers… being two. Love!#7577T
