Newborn Sweetness {Olympia, WA Newborn Photographer}

_DSC4547-Edit

Oh sweet Malia!  What a treasured little person.  Krosbie and Justin are so in love, thoughtful and sensitive, I KNEW they would be wonderful parents!  Little Malia, barely two weeks old, made a bit of time for us (between nursing) to photograph her perfect little features.  It’s so relaxing cranking the heat up in the studio and sitting on the floor while photographing teenies. Although most of the session is usually split between diaper changes and feeding. Haha… In between all of that, I get to sit and hold a tiny miracle in my lap, and feel waves of gratitude that the child I am holding is loved beyond measure.  I just wish all children could be this loved…  So much love and congratulations to you! xo

Summer Breezes, Love in the Afternoon… {Engagement Session, Olympia, WA}

These two!  I cannot wait to photograph the wedding of Krosbie and Justin this fall.  They are wildly in love and so, soooo sweet to one another.  We started the portrait session out in the studio, made our way to the boardwalk, did some abandoned warehouse exploring, and then headed back to their newly purchased home–which they moved into THE DAY BEFORE!!!  Happily greeting us was their sweet baby Kingston, 3 month old Shepherd mix–his paws are GINORMOUS!  So much fun ending the session with the two of them, piled on the floor surrounded by boxes, eating take out Thai…  ahhhh, such is young love : )

Winter Warmth {Kicking up the heat with Boudoir photography}

There is nothing better than giving the perfect gift.  To see the smile that floods their face and mists their eyes, and the swelling of love at such a thoughtful gesture, so very rewarding.  So, how about kicking that up a notch or ten?  Well, for a couple of very lucky gentlemen, their wives truly gave them “the best present EVER” (direct quote from both) with the Little Black Book.  Thank you both for trusting me and for being such incredible subjects! It was a total treat to capture these gorgeous women, knowing the wonderful surprise that was in store for their lovies.

Sweet smiles and shiny hair {Maternity Photo Session, Olympia, WA}

College sweethearts Charly and Justin were all smiles during their maternity portrait session.  These two darlings have the shiniest hair I’ve seen–I’m certain their lil bambino will follow suit! Lucky…  Though Charly was entering the “uncomfortable” phase of her pregnancy, she was still able to rally and smile away–who needs to take a deep breath or sit easily, right?

Justin is an amazing soccer player and I have no doubt we will be watching him in the MLS someday soon.  Cheers to a beautiful couple with a future as shiny as their hair!_DSC4981-Edit_DSC5035-Edit_DSC5089-Edit_DSC5098-Edit_DSC5149-Edit_DSC5199-Edit

Arm Art, Portrait Session, Olympia, WA

I met my fellow photographer and friend Martha a few years ago at a photography seminar.  She is one of those instantly open and friendly people.  The course focused on newborn/baby photography and we had a good time trying to replicate the poses with our purses and notebooks.  Martha is an amazing photographer–I love her style!  She recently began having her first tattoo inked and wanted to document the process.  Yeah, self portraiture of your own arm just doesn’t really work… so she will be stopping by the studio before each session in Portland.  I’m excited to see the next phase. Watch the evolution with me : )#8672#8686

Two Min-Pins, a Dobie and lots of happy Cows, Family Portrait session, Olympia, WA

Last Saturday I headed a bit south to photograph Rachel, Diana and their three gorgeous dogs–two Min-Pins (Maddie & Hallie) and a Doberman (Maya).  As a child I always dreamed of having a Doberman.  I love the idea that as pet keepers, we share some sort of resemblance with those furry occupants of our house.  Both Rachel and Diana were like human Doberman’s–sporting healthy tans, they had the graceful elegance of athletes.#7794-Edit

They make their home amidst a lovely cattle ranch south of Olympia, complete with barns fun of hay, roaming barn cats and content cows.  I adored the fuzzy faces of their curious cows, who lingered at a comfortable distance, a silent, cud chewing audience.  It was just a wonderfully relaxed session with some great subjects… a perfect start to the weekend : )#8002 logoDSC_7881-EditDSC_7862-EditDSC_7834-Edit
