Vegas Adventures… CreativeLive, WPPI and Curlee Bikini

Last week I had the amazing experience of immersing myself in the photographic industry on various levels.  I was an audience member of Sue Bryce’s creativeLive 28 Days, attended WPPI–great courses and tradeshow, and had the opportunity to photograph new swimsuits for Curlee Bikini: poolside, in a hotel suite and in the desert. I loved spending time with my darling brother Joshua, his talented love Mallory (Curlee Bikini owner/designer) and good friend Allison, being roomies for the week.  I’ve been home for a couple of days but still feel exhausted. Winning some family time in Las Vegas, Family Portrait Session, Las Vegas, NV

I’m not a big gambler, but was thrilled to be heading to Las Vegas for the annual Wedding & Portrait Photographers International conference last week.  I was able to catch up with my favorite photographer friends, make some new ones, and even hosted my brother Joshua who came in from LA for a couple of nights.  He is the best dancer and we ended up staying at Studio 54 until nearly 4 am… oh, I’m still paying for that one!

One friend I loved seeing was my girl Allison from Montreal.  Her husband Chris was tending to their adorable son Gabe during the lecture time, and would meet up now and then for a meal or quick visit.  Thankfully, we were able to sneak in a quick little family session. We savored the palm trees swaying in the crisp blue sky, knowing that snow was waiting for us.  I wish we’d had more time… but isn’t that always the case?  Gabe was a little uncertain about the shoulder thing at first…DSC_0003-EditHe changed his mind quickly! We all know the real estate adage: location, location, location, right?  Well it DOES make a difference…  As I was talking with Sarah and Josh about their upcoming wedding details, we discovered we would all be in Las Vegas at the same time.  Lucky? I’d say so!  We simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to shoot their engagement photos there.  We met at the MGM Grand, made our way to the Bellagio, followed by the iconic sign “Welcome to Las Vegas” and finished up at Mandalay Bay, which smells like coconut vanilla heaven…  The images are playful and sassy–just like the two of them.  Their business, Green Cupboards, is a great resource for products that help us live a greener life and leave less of a footprint.  Check it out: http://www.greencupboards.com/ A darling couple, doing great things!
