Oh sweet Malia! What a treasured little person. Krosbie and Justin are so in love, thoughtful and sensitive, I KNEW they would be wonderful parents! Little Malia, barely two weeks old, made a bit of time for us (between nursing) to photograph her perfect little features. It’s so relaxing cranking the heat up in the studio and sitting on the floor while photographing teenies. Although most of the session is usually split between diaper changes and feeding. Haha… In between all of that, I get to sit and hold a tiny miracle in my lap, and feel waves of gratitude that the child I am holding is loved beyond measure. I just wish all children could be this loved… So much love and congratulations to you! xo

Cheeks and Chubs, Jack’s 3 month portrait session {Olympia baby photographer, Olympia, WA}
Babies! It’s such a treat to have little ones in the studio, especially when they have cheeks like Jack. This sweet little guy is such a happy, smiley, cooing, drooling bundle of cuteness! His momma Nichole is already his biggest fan, laughing easily over our failed #Pinterest attempt to cover his face in red lipstick smooches. Dang it! How to keep those smooches smear free is beyond me! Still completely adorable though… I can’t wait to see what he does next! xo
Pigtails, Tickles and a Walk Through the Fall Leaves {Family Portrait Session, Olympia, WA}
I LOVE this adorable family! I’ve had the opportunity to know them and photograph their sweetness since K was a newborn. They are such a solid, together couple and wonderfully doting parents. It doesn’t hurt that they are GORGEOUS… K is blossoming into such a little spirited, spunky thang–I just love smiles full of baby teeth : ) Cheers to family love!! Thanks for allowing me to capture your darling, darling family.
xoxo
And now the Baby is a Father…
I’m the oldest in a family of six kids. Although it MUST have been chaotic, I don’t remember it being too rowdy. There were kids in diapers for long stretches, and guess who was babysitter numero uno? Yep, me. I was 15 when the baby of our family arrived–Zachary. My sister and I were away at camp and anxiously awaiting any news. I remember someone breathlessly running through the woods to deliver the news to our cabin. Another boy! He was such a little stinker and so much fun. In fact, he still is a stinker, only a lot taller, and still so much fun to be with. I know how lucky I am to have such a crazy family and LOVE my brothers and sisters so darn much! It’s truly a joy to watch them nurture their own darling little families. Congrats to Zach and his sweet wife Desiree–little miss Payton is a blessed addition. xoxo
Kids Keep You Looking Young {Family Portrait Session, Olympia, WA}
I’ve been friends with Mark for nearly (choke) 30 years. He and his gorgeous wife Danacia clearly don’t seem to be aging–or at least not as quickly as others! Maybe it’s the fact that they have to be active chasing around three little ones. Their oldest was the epitome of Big Brother, trying to set a good example for adorably rambunctious twins. They were all so darling, and Mark and Danacia just kept smiling through it all, surrendering to the delightfully entertaining chaos that is their daily life. Cherish it you guys…because it passes much too quickly. xoxo
Thanks for coming to see me! I loved how my name was pronounced: Coort-ten-naaaay. I just may change it….
Welcome Baby Cruz! Newborn Photo Session, Olympia, WA
I photographed Kiersten and David’s New Years Even wedding nearly two years ago. A brilliant party and festive night, their guests danced into the wee hours. I was thrilled for the when I found out they were expecting! And I could barely wait to capture their darling new baby boy Cruz! They are a lovely couple, completely enamored with their little guy. He was about the most complacent baby, barely fussed at all. But when your needs are met, why fuss? Congratulations you three!! xoxo
A Day at the Beach, Family Portrait Session, Burfoot Park, Olympia, WA
A family photograph–such an important image to document. So why do we put it off? Thankfully, the Swindler family made time together : ) We spent a lovely little hike through the woods to emerge into a bright and busy Puget Sound beach. Now if I can only manage to do the same with my own family… Thanks again for making time with me! I love LOVE the images : )
Two Min-Pins, a Dobie and lots of happy Cows, Family Portrait session, Olympia, WA
Last Saturday I headed a bit south to photograph Rachel, Diana and their three gorgeous dogs–two Min-Pins (Maddie & Hallie) and a Doberman (Maya). As a child I always dreamed of having a Doberman. I love the idea that as pet keepers, we share some sort of resemblance with those furry occupants of our house. Both Rachel and Diana were like human Doberman’s–sporting healthy tans, they had the graceful elegance of athletes.
They make their home amidst a lovely cattle ranch south of Olympia, complete with barns fun of hay, roaming barn cats and content cows. I adored the fuzzy faces of their curious cows, who lingered at a comfortable distance, a silent, cud chewing audience. It was just a wonderfully relaxed session with some great subjects… a perfect start to the weekend : )
